If you’re crazy busy and (like us TWOP girls) finding time to go to the gym is a challenge, then have no fear, The 7 Minute Workout is here! “How can seven minutes possibly be enough to make a difference?!” I hear you cry as you shovel chocolate into your mouth, but I can ensure you, dear reader, it is.

A friend of mine introduced me to this workout while on a group holiday last year. He assured me that seven minutes of intense (note, I don’t say ‘easy’) training is better than going to the gym. To my disbelief I Googled this crazy idea and found 12 simple exercises of high-intensity interval training which often use props such as chairs and walls (we all have them right?!), can be more successful than over an hour in the gym . Based on scientific research, it can provide you with a full body workout and although this may seem like a breeze, it’s pretty tough. But for only 7 minutes a day, who can complain?

It’s important that the exercises are performed in rapid succession, allowing 30 seconds for each and in the order shown below. I am not going to lie, these seven minutes should be unpleasant, but it wouldn’t work if they weren’t! Remember: pain is weakness leaving the body.

Here’s what you need to do:

I found it easier to follow the workout on an app because it helps you get the timings right (there are various free apps for your tablet or phone, but I found this one to be the most effective). Or alternatively if you want to follow the session online try this site. Good luck!
