We went to the spring edition of Brides the Show at the weekend to droll over dresses, stuff our bellies with cake and to generally be in awe of all things wedding. We weren’t disappointed.
The spring edition of ‘Brides The Show‘ took place on 22nd & 23rd at Battersea Park, welcoming over 5,000 brides-to-be and their bridal parties to a wedding planning event with a difference.
Following on from the success of the inaugural event last October, organisers SME London Ltd and creative partners Condé Nast Brides magazine were committed to ensuring the spring edition presented an even more stylish bridal event, establishing it as the premium event of its kind. With busy aisles and thousands of blushing brides/bridezillas across the weekend, it didn’t disappoint.
Interactive and inspirational feature areas gave brides-to-be all the ideas and expertise they could ever need in their bridal planning, from wine tasting to craft workshops. Instalment Art with a Heart presented sketches from 19 A-list celebrities (including Daisy Lowe and Lulu Guinness) who were asked to draw their dream wedding dress. All were available through auction to buy and raise money for the British Heart Foundation. The main event, the catwalk, showcased two brilliant trend shows: ‘Dresses with Drama’ and ‘Roman Holiday’, all styled by Brides’ own fashion director Bryony Toogood.
The whole event was stunning and left us with our bellies full and our imaginations running wild – we’ll be channeling all that inspiration into planning RH’s 2015 wedding…watch this space.
The next installment of Brides the Show is on October 3-5th, Islington Business Design Centre – www.bridestheshow.co.uk/index.php/tickets
