City Break Chic at Boscolo Nice Hotel & Spa

by Jul 3, 2022

Put aside the images of summer travel chaos and imagine instead a European city break that is decadent, delightful, smooth and slick. Let’s talk about Nice.

Arriving at the airport (after a short flight of 1.5 – 2 hours from most UK airports) there’s a tram that takes you straight into the centre of the city within 25 minutes, for under 2 euros. Fly hand luggage only and you’re there within an hour of landing.

We stayed at the 5 star Boscolo Nice Hotel & Spa which is just minutes from the old town and a short walk to the beach. There is the added bonus here that all guests get privileged access to a reserved area with sun loungers on the famous Ruhl Plage.

And if you don’t fancy a private beach, perhaps you’ll prefer the rooftop pool. An absolute oasis where you can cool off above the city and stare for hours at your surroundings – from hilltop churches to the tiny streets below.

There’s another spot to relax for those wanting to take things one step further – in the 500 square metre Deep Nature spa. The perfect antidote to a bustling beach or buzzing bistro dinner, the spa offers every imaginable treatment and focuses on ‘psychophysical regeneration’.

Rooms here are refined and sophisticated – think marble, parquet floors and subtle hues of ivory and cream. There are a variety of suites on offer including the Grand Suite Duplex which is housed over two floors.

Food and Art are further passions of the creators of this stunning hotel. There are three main restaurants: Angelo Terra d’Italia, B Club Rooftop and Genesi Italian Restaurant. The hotel also regularly hosts gastronomic themed evening events with well known Italian chefs creating bespoke menus for each occasion.

You only have to walk into the lobby of Boscolo Nice Hotel & Spa to understand the value that the hotel places on art. There are vast sculptures throughout as well as regularly changing exhibitions designed in collaboration with various galleries. The diversity of this hotel and all that it offers make it the ideal spot for couples, families or solo travellers.

Whether you decide to visit in the height of summer or prefer an off season trip, Nice awaits you with all the joy and sparkle that travel should entail.
