What do you love most about the brand you’ve created?

Probably that at Bold Bean Co we’re not “cool”! Keeping an allure of trendiness would have been absolutely exhausting for me. Our friendly, happy-go-lucky brand means we can truly be ourselves.

Have you always wanted to work in this industry?

YES! Absolutely. Always food, always been obsessed with brands. When I was a student I would listen to podcasts by the likes of Pippa Murray (Pip & Nut) and get so inspired.

What are you most proud of?

The people I’ve managed to bring into the business. The Bold Bean team make this work incredible.

What advice would you give to someone keen to start a business but unsure where to begin?

  1. Make sure you’re making something actually “Good” for the world
  2. Be authentic
  3. TAKE THAT LEAP! You won’t regret it – even if you are to fail your career is completely accelerated.

Who is one of your biggest inspirations – either professionally or personally?

Lily of Detox Kitchen, Nikki of Re: Nourish, Laura Jackson of Glassette

If you could attribute your success to anyone who gave you your big break?

Anastasia Emmanuel, my old boss. She gave me the confidence to believe in myself and made me a big ole feminist.

What’s the hardest thing about your job?

Being ghosted by supermarket buyers!

Which part of your job do you most enjoy?

Brainstorming ideas with the team. Cooking (obviously!)

Do you find it easy to balance work and play?

Luckily my co-founder, Ed, has introduced really healthy habits into the company when it comes to mental and physical health – it’s become one of our values which means I try to live as balanced a life as possible.
