Bringing you our selection of the biggest and baddest adland breaking news from the last 7 days.
Like a slightly less exciting Santa.
The week at a glance:
This week, jolly festivities continue (WHEN WILL THEY END?!!) as Santa kindly gifted us with his revamped Brand Book and West Jet (an airline we’d never heard of before this, the clever little blighters) kindly gifted an entire Boeing 747’s load of passengers with their Christmas Wishlist. Oh and some elves delivered presents in the form of ‘Agency of The Year’ awards to a very select bunch of UK ad and media agencies.
Santa’s Brand Book
Quietroom, a London-based branding agency, have compiled a Brand Book to tell us all how to do Christmas. Especially useful if you happen to be Santa (thusly named because ‘it starts with the hiss of power and ends with the Ah! of surprise’). Bloody brilliant. Each page is a delight and a refreshing poke at some of the utter fluff that we often come across in this industry. You can view it here
West Jet share some Christmas love
The next time a middle-aged man dressed as Santa asks you what you’d like for Christmas, think long and hard before replying. Because if you happen to find yourself in a similar situation to this group of West Jet passengers, you’d be kicking yourself if you were the bloke who asked for ‘socks and underwear’. A fantastic use of Big Data, lots of very quick shoppers and a bit of Christmas joy makes for a hugely shareable video. Watch the video here
